Amazon workers across seven facilities in New York, Georgia, California, and Illinois launched a strike on Thursday. They are seeking improved benefits, higher wages, and safer working conditions. The strike is organized by the Teamsters union and aims to pressure Amazon to negotiate a contract and minimize disruptions during the holiday shopping season. Teamsters President Sean O’Brien accused Amazon of ignoring a Sunday negotiation deadline, citing the company's insatiable greed as a barrier to progress. Amazon countered that the union's claims were misleading and described the protesters as almost entirely outsiders rather than employees.

Leaked documents have suggested that Amazon workers in Germany will be allowed to request working-from-home arrangements for up to two days a week. As with many companies, work-from-home arrangements became common at Amazon during the Covid 19 pandemic lockdowns. However, in September Amazon announced its RTO (Return To Office) mandate, a plan to shift its global workforce back into the office full-time.
